This Privacy Policy explains how personal information submitted through this website, for Principal's Concert 2026 ticket and merchandise purchases, VIP registration, and event check-in, is collected, used, and protected, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).1. Who We AreThe University of Pretoria is the responsible party in respect of personal information for purposes of the Principal’s Concert 2026, as contemplated in the Protection of Personal Information Act No 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Certain service providers involved in connection with issuing of the tickets, processing of payments and communications regarding the event, may process personal information on behalf of, or in connection with the University, subject to applicable law.2. Information We CollectDepending on how you interact with this site, we may collect: your name, surname, title, email address, and mobile or WhatsApp number; ticket, seat, and merchandise selections; a delivery address, if you choose mailed merchandise; dietary or accessibility requirements you choose to share; and payment confirmation references from our payment partners. Payment information required to process a transaction is submitted to and processed through the applicable payment service provider. The University does not itself intend to collect or store payment card details through this website.3. Why We Collect ItWe will not use your personal information for direct marketing unrelated to the event, unless we have an appropriate legal basis to do so and where required, have obtained your consent. Where applicable, direct marketing communications will provide an appropriate mechanism to opt out of further communications.4. Who We Share It WithWe may share personal information, to the extent reasonably necessary, with service providers engaged in connection with the event, including providers of ticketing and event-management systems, payment services, email, SMS and WhatsApp communications and related technical services. The University does not sell, rent, or otherwise trade personal information to third parties.5. SecurityThe University will implement appropriate, reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, damage, unauthorized destruction, unlawful access or unauthorized processing, having regard to the provisions of POPIA. Service providers processing personal information in connection with the event will be required to maintain appropriate security measures applicable to the services that they provide. Payment card data is handled entirely within the University’s payment gateways and own secure, PCI-compliant environments.6. RetentionPersonal information will be retained for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently processed, subject to applicable legal, financial, audit and/or record retention requirements and policies of the University. Thereafter, the information will be securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized in accordance with applicable law and University policies.7. Your RightsSubject to POPIA and other applicable law, you have the right to request access to the personal information held about you; request the correction or deletion of inaccurate, irrelevant, out of date, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained personal information; object to certain processing of your personal information, subject to University legal retention obligations; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.8.
